FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How are your drawings made?
The drawings that are presented in my portrait gallery are made with coloured pencil from a photo. This is the technique I also use for the personalized portraits on order. The movement sketches were made in pencil and then digitally coloured.

What equipment do you use to draw ?

When I draw my portraits, I use Faber Castell Polychromos coloured pencils and 250g satin paper. The fact that the paper is smooth allows me to work on the details and it's soft to the touch. I have a hundred different colours to be able to represent a maximum of nuances.

Are all the drawings on the site available for order?

Only the designs that appear in the online shop can be ordered. It will evolve as time goes by.

Do you take orders for drawings other than gymnastics?

Yes, I do traditional portraits and I can draw several subjects together.

How much does a commissioned portrait cost ?
The cost varies according to the complexity of the work and the time it takes. Contact me, I will make your drawing according to your wishes and send you a free estimate.

Payment can be made by bank transfer or Paypal. Once I have received a 50% deposit, I start your design. When it is finished I show you the final rendering by email. Once you approve it and I have received your final payment, I send it to you by post.

How are the drawings sent?

The drawings are sent by post, well protected with cardboard for transport. They are sent flat, in a rigid cardboard envelope as well. You receive a tracking number to know its progress. The original portraits are sent by International Colissimo.

How long does it take to receive a drawing?

Prints offered through the store can be sent immediately if I already have copies ready. Otherwise, it may take up to a week to get them printed.

The time varies depending on the destination and the time of preparation of the order. The post office delay is 2 to 3 days for France. International shipments may take longer.

For personalized portraits I count 2 to 3 weeks of realization. Do not hesitate to tell me if you wish to receive it for a particular date, I can adapt the order of the orders according to it.

How do I choose my photo model?
It is important to have a high definition photo to see the details.

Ideally, you should have a 3/4 view of the face, with a light side and a shadow side.

If you don't know how to choose the model, you can send me several photos, I will help you in your choice.

I want to frame my drawing, which frame should I choose?

For A4 drawing (21 x 29.7cm), the ideal frame size is 21 x 29.7cm or 30 x 40cm (the size above). For the latter, make sure that the empty space inside the mat is slightly smaller than the drawing.

Ditto for the A3 drawings (29.7 x 42cm).

How do I preserve my drawings?

In order to keep the intensity of the colours, it is advisable to keep the design away from direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure to sunlight will fade the colour of the pigments. Ideally, the drawing should be stored under glass with a mat. In the meantime, the transparent envelope can be used to protect the drawing.
